BASSO, BEING PART OF THE HISTORY.

The meeting between Alcide Basso and the world of professional road cycling happened very early: as a child he had the good fortune to live in a family where day by day he saw how his brother developed to become a world champion, Alcide himself then competed at a high level as an athlete whilst forming an even stronger passion for the sport, he now continues as the creator of winning bikes for those who, like him, love cycling so much they make it an important part of their lives.

The force that pushes the company Basso to search for innovative solutions is the true tradition of Italian cycling, where the history of cycling is alive and runs every day in the passion of its characters. One of our first creations, the Gap, was a bicycle dedicated to a Basso of the past, Alcide’s brother, who won the World Championship in 1972. Since then, “Basso racing bikes” is the goal and the faith behind each and every one of our new products.

The 2010 Diamante is the first of a new generation of Basso frames, the result of thousands of hours of research by Alcide Basso’s most trusted testers. It uses a new fully integrated bottom bracket in the frame’s lower structure, significantly increasing the force from the pedal to the rear wheel.
Basso use reinforced 4x4 twill carbon fibre developed in the aerospace industry. Supreme speed, agility, accuracy and responsiveness are just some of the features that distinguish it from any other bike.

DIAMANTE

A race-orientated model, the Astra offers the pefect balance of rigidity and comfort. A tapered steerer and a 1.1/5” bottom headset cup improves power whilst reducing stress on the head tube and a new four leaf clover shaped tubing adds strength to the frame. It also offers better down hill and rough terrain handling. New BB shell and oversized chain stays give the rear triangle sufficient strength to keep its shape under the wattage of the world’s most powerful athletes, ensuring every ounce of power is transferred from pistons to pavement.

ASTRA

Basso’s stringent quality control starts with the tube ensuring that every alloy bike is fault-free, built to the highest possible standards. Basso’s custom designed triple-butted aluminium tubing and exclusive design integrated headset offer a highly stable, smooth ride and lightweight frame - exceptional value for money.

DEVIL

With its monocoque T700 3K carbon fibre frame, the new style Laguna is the embodiment of a modern racing and sports bike. The innovative design along with the slender and bold frame shape not only look superb, they enhance the frame’s technical value. By having the correct rigidity whilst under pressure, performance is maintained at the highest level whilst delivering exceptional comfort and effective absorption to road imperfections.

LAGUNA

The compact geometry of the Reef allows you to precision-customize your bike and get far better results than you would with a standard geometry frame. Carbon rear seat stays, which are designed to absorb the road imperfections, offer superb riding comfort by reducing lateral flex while increasing vertical flex. This makes the Reef perfect for the endurance cyclist, particularly those competing in challenging sportive events.

KRONOS

Designed and manufactured at the Basso HQ in Vicenza the Konos has produced one of the most efficient and aerodynamic designs for racing against the clock.
The 2010 Konos includes a super light streamlined integrated Seatpost incorporating a fully enclosed internal seat clamp providing increased fore aft stiffness. Other features include fully enclosed cabling, an oversized bottom bracket shell and as with all models in the range the Konos is one of the most aesthetically pleasing bikes on the market.
